Richie Anderson has spoken out against the speculation of a ‘feud’ between him and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice, labelling the rumours ‘ridiculous’.
Ever since Richie and Giovanni made their debut on the show last week, it’s been clear the pair share a lot of laughs and joy together in the training room.
However, some naysayers have implied that there’s bad blood between the pair, with the professional dancer denying anything of the sort while making a recent appearance on Strictly’s sister show It Takes Two.
During a recent conversation with Metro.co.uk, Richie poured even more cold water on the reports, with the radio personality emphasising how much his pro has ‘looked after’ him in the past few weeks.
‘It’s ridiculous, it’s not even a thing,’ he stated.
‘He has looked after me so much over the last couple of weeks. He’s like a big brother, which is weird, because I’m older.’

Speaking about how much fun they have in the training room, the BBC Radio 2 star said: ‘Training’s just a laugh, and he’s a great teacher – he’s a strict teacher, he knows what he wants.
‘There’s a reason he’s been to five finals in seven years. We have a laugh, look at our Instagram! We have fun.’
Giovanni also chimed in, expressing his scorn for those who claim that there’s friction in his friendship with Richie.

‘It’s fun when you read those things, you laugh, because a “source says”… I would love to meet the source,’ he admitted.
‘I literally would go for dinner with the source and talk to the source and say, “So darling what do you know? Tell me more, tell me more.”
‘I’ve been on the show for eight years, I’ve seen any colour of the source that’s talking about us. So I just like to put everybody in place.’
While addressing the ‘feud’ rumours on It Takes Two, Giovanni turned to the camera while saying: ‘There is no problem between us.
‘We are having a good time, forget about what you’re writing. It’s not true.’
Last week, Richie and Giovanni made their grand Strictly debut with a fun-filled Cha-Cha-Cha to Wham!’s I’m Your Man, scoring 23 out of a possible 40.
For the second live show, they’ll be performing the Quickstep to Barry Manilow’s Dancin’ Fool.
Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
