Good Morning Britain star Alex Beresford is officially a married man after tying the knot with fiancee Imogen McKay in Majorca.

The ITV weatherman proposed to Imogen, who works in E-commerce, in April after meeting on a blind date in August 2020.

They returned to Majorca this month, where Alex popped the question on New Year’s Day during a romantic beach walk, to say their vows in front of friends and family.

Alex’s 12-year-old son Cruz, from a former relationship, was not only the ring bearer but also his dad’s ‘mini best man’. The TV star also had his brother and cousin as ushers, and two of his best friends – both coincidentally named Leon – as best men.

Making up Imogen’s bridal party were her sisters and bridesmaids Helena and Georgia.

‘When I turned to watch Imogen walking towards me, my heart skipped a beat. She looked amazing. So classically beautiful and exactly as I’d imagined,’ Alex, 41, told Hello! Magazine

He added: ‘I was blown away by the beauty of it all. One of my cousins said it was like being in a movie and it really was. It was incredible from start to finish.

‘But most importantly, it was where I was marrying the woman I love.’

Imogen, who hails from Australia, said: ‘I couldn’t wait to marry Alex.

‘Seeing him and all our loved ones in that incredible setting made me feel so emotional.’

Their nuptials took place on the day of the Queen’s funeral on September 19 and Alex made sure to watch part of the service on a TV at a cafe due to being miles away on the Spanish island.

Announcing their surprise engagement earlier this year, Alex explained that he’d been single for a while and was therefore ready for a new relationship, but refused to try a dating app or website.

A mutual friend then stepped in and agreed to set him up with Imogen via a blind date but not before they jokingly told him: ‘She’s way too good for you.’

Speaking to the publication this spring, Alex recalled ‘hitting it off’ with Imogen immediately as they bonded over their love for their families, values and goals.

The couple have since had a long-distance relationship moving between Bristol and London before their engagement.

Alex confirmed at the time that his son Cruz, who he shares with ex-wife Natalia Natkaniec, would play a special part in the wedding.
