Hocus Pocus 2 finally arrived on Friday with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimi all back as the Sanderson Sisters, but we almost got Thora Birch too.
Birch starred as Dani Dennison in the original 1993 movie, and after watching Hocus Pocus 2 we can assure you she was definitely missed in the sequel.
However, the Ghost World actress, 40, has revealed she almost reprised her role and had some great ideas for the long-awaited follow up to what is easily the best Halloween movie. Yup, we went there.
Sadly, scheduling conflicts got in the way.
‘There were there about two or three different versions of Dani,’ she told The Wrap.
‘My ideal one was to have her running the museum of the house, to kind of like keep a watch, making sure that you know, it doesn’t happen again or whatever and then she could like, guide whoever brings it back.

‘But that was just my thought.
‘There were a couple of other ideas… there were several options and they all would have worked.’
Instead Hocus Pocus 2 features Sam Richardson as Gilbert, a die hard fan of the Sanderson sisters after catching a glimpse of them flying off on their brooms and a hoover 29 years ago.
Birch stressed she ‘really did’ want to be involved, particularly after the huge fan demand.
She did confirm though she will be ‘happily watching it’.
Hocus Pocus 2 is available to stream on Disney+.
