As The Walking Dead gears up to air its last ever group of episodes, the show’s final trailer has teased the upcoming Rick Grimes and Michonne spin-off.
The zombie series, which has been on the air since 2010, will come to a close on November 20, but from there the Walking Dead universe will only expand.
The latest trailer for the last instalment of the original show has teased viewers with where the franchise will be heading next, giving a glimpse of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) reuniting.
The pair are seen talking to each other, as Rick says: ‘It’s been a while since we had one of these talks.’
Michonne is then shown as she says ‘Come on,’ before turning away from the camera. Whether she’s talking directly to Rick will be revealed next year.
The new series, described as an ‘epic and insane love story’ by Walking Dead producers, will air in 2023.

It’s one of three planned spin-offs from the post-apocalyptic drama, in addition to the newly titled The Walking Dead: Dead City and an untitled Darryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) show.
The spin-off with Rick and Michonne, which is currently operating under the working title Rick & Michonne, was confirmed earlier this year at San Diego’s annual Comic Con event.
The new clip of the upcoming six-part drama, which was originally intended to be a movie, is short but sweet, giving viewers an anticipated glimpse at the old fan-favourites.
Rick last appeared in an episode of The Walking Dead in 2018, and Michonne’s own storyline was left on a major cliffhanger shortly afterward.

Rick was last seen at the end of the show’s ninth season, badly injured and being taken away in a helicopter by the Civic Republic Military – the police and military organisation.
Michonne, on the other hand, left during season 10, to search for Rick and hopefully discover his whereabouts.
As well as teasing three brand-new spin-offs, the trailer revealed that fourth spin-off Fear the Walking Dead, which started in 2015, will soon air its eighth season.

In response, one fan said: ‘So excited! I hope at least one of the new shoes continues for more than just one season.’
The news comes after Norman Reedus, who plays Darryl Dixon in The Walking Dead, was recently honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
