Kaye Adams’ Loose Women co-stars are not at all happy that she was the first celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing, saying she was ‘robbed’.

This weekend, Kaye, 59, and her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington, 27, took on the Charleston for week two, delivering a joyful routine full of smiles and impressive lifts.

However, the duo landed in the bottom two opposite singer Matt Goss and his partner Nadiya Bychkova, with the majority of the judges deciding to send Kaye home.

While reacting to the outcome of Sunday’s results show, Loose Women star Jane Moore immediately remarked on how displeased she was by the elimination.

‘I have to say, she was robbed. I thought she did so brilliantly, and for me, she is what the Strictly journey is supposed to be all about,’ Jane said.

‘She’s never danced, she’s not a performer,’ she added, praising Kaye for how ‘improved’ she was from week one and how she stepped ‘outside her comfort zone’.

Janet Street-Porter revealed she sent Kaye a text commending her for showing ‘guts’, before stating that in her view, ‘women of a certain age’ have a ‘tough time’ when they enter shows like Strictly.

Linda Robson added that she thought Kaye was ‘definitely better’ than Matt Goss in the dance off, despite Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke decided to save the latter.

As Jane credited Kaye for how ‘incredibly gracious’ she was about her exit, a VT was shown of Kaye talking about her Strictly experience in the aftermath of her elimination.

‘So I have finally surfaced after the craziest weekend imaginable. I mean, obviously I’m gutted at myself in that I panicked in that dance off, I just panicked and I’ve seen a few comments saying I looked like a rabbit in the headlines, and they’re right, I was,’ she said.

However, she emphasised that she does ‘not regret signing up for Strictly despite my early exit’.

‘I’ve learnt so many things, and I met so many wonderful people that I will definitely come out of this Strictly,’ she said.

Kaye also revealed that she’d gone home with a whole pack of 32DD bras – after discovering her larger bra size while having fittings for the show – as well as a Strictly dressing gown.

‘It’s time to get back to the new world. So how’s the new government doing?’ she quipped at the end of her message.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV. Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
