Bling Empire: New York spin-off announced after Dorothy Wang’s east coast move-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro
We’re so ready!
There will soon be a lot more glitz on our screens as Netflix has announced a Bling Empire spin-off, focusing on the Big Apple.
Ahead of the third season of the main show, which is landing on the streaming platform on Wednesday, bosses confirmed that a New York series will be hitting the small screen.
Dorothy Wang, who joined the blingy gang for series two, will be spearheading the new program after making the move across to the east coast.
She has been joined by equally fashionable friend Tina Leung, as well as Richard Chang and his partner, Vika, and many others.
In a new trailer, the former Rich Kids of Beverly Hills alum warns: ‘In New York, anything can happen.
‘New York City, I’m here! I’m hoping that I’ll vibe with New York guys more than LA guys…

‘I’m single, ready to mingle.’
However, it looks like Dorothy doesn’t stay single for long, appearing to grow close to one of her new co-stars.
‘Sometimes I don’t want to have to unleash…,’ she teases at the end of the trailer. ‘But I will.’
Dorothy previously spilled to Metro.co.uk about the possibility of a New York spin-off after she basically stole the show with her debut and suggested that it could be ‘fun’.

‘I don’t know, that sounds like it would be fun, right?,’ she teased earlier this year.
‘I will tell you, my life in New York is very exciting. I have a great group of friends, they’re very blingy as well. They are fun, funky and very in your face.
‘We’re an exciting, fun crew so I think that it would be great for those stories to be told as well.’
She also revealed how much of her own camera time was left on the cutting room floor, admitting that scenes discussing her health issues were axed.
‘Well, I think in general, a lot was cut out,’ the E! icon continued. ‘I think, for me, I actually didn’t film that many so proportion wise, compared to everyone else, a lot of my scenes weren’t cut out.
‘I had a lot of my health journey… I’ve been going through a lot of health issues and having a lot of weird allergic reactions and mysterious skin reactions, doctors haven’t been able to figure [it] out.
‘One of my trepidations about appearing on the show was that I just said, “I’m not really feeling my best, I’m not really looking my best. I don’t know if I’m really ready to come back to TV. I have a lot of doctor’s appointments, I have a lot of things that have to do with my health that I’m taking care of right now.” They said, “Oh yeah, we’re gonna follow that.”

‘We filmed a lot of things about my health journey that didn’t really make it. That, to me, was disappointing because I just felt like it would have been a great story to tell and a great story to share. That, in real life, has been a really long and deep struggle for me.’
Hopefully we get more of Dorothy on the new series.
Netflix has yet to confirm when Bling Empire: New York will be premiering, but thankfully we have enough to keep us occupied in the meantime, thanks to season three of the original show arriving on Wednesday.
Bling Empire is available to stream on Netflix now.
