Sam Ryder is set to open this year’s National Television Awards next week after the ceremony was delayed following the Queen’s death.
The Eurovision star, who shot to fame after coming second in the contest with his song Rocketman, will perform the track live at OVO Arena Wembley on October 13.
‘This year instead of watching I’ll be getting up off the sofa to actually perform at the NTAs!’ Sam enthused.
‘I couldn’t be more excited to spend the evening singing my head off and celebrating the work of such amazing individuals across the television industry!’
Sam topped the jury vote at this year’s Eurovision in May before Ukraine entry Kalush Orchestra went on to win overall following a symbolic show of public support which saw them soar to first place with 631 points.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are expected the attend the NTAs together despite backlash after allegations they jumped the queue to see the Queen lying in state, which they deny.

They have been snubbed, however, in this year’s nominations, with the likes of Alison Hammond and up Ant McPartlin, and Declan Donnelly up for the best presenter gong, along with Bradley Walsh and Graham Norton.
Elsewhere, the late Tom Parker has been posthumously shortlisted for a documentary about the charity concert he organised six months before his death aged 33 in aid of cancer research.
Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway and stars from the hit Netflix series Bridgerton are also among the stars competing for an award.
The NTAs were rescheduled following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The prize ceremony was due to take place on September 15 from Wembley’s OVO Arena, but was delayed due to the period of national mourning.

In a statement following the beloved late monarch’s death, a spokesman said: ‘ITV and Indigo Television have taken the decision to reschedule this year’s National Television Awards; the ceremony will now take place on Thursday 13th October, live from the OVO Arena Wembley’.
‘All tickets will remain valid for the new date. Media accreditation will be confirmed for the new date early next week’.
