The Big Bang Theory producer has denied ‘f*****g ‘with Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki by adding more steamy scenes between the pair after their real life relationship ended.

The stars played onscreen couple Penny and Leonard Hofstadter respectively on the series and fans were sent into a complete frenzy when the pair dated outside of the show.

Kaley, 36, and Johnny, 47, were in a relationship for two years between 2007 and 2009 while working on the hit sitcom and have remained close friends following their split over a decade ago.

Despite calling time on their romance, Penny and Leonard were very much in love on the show and it was revealed in the season finale that Penny was pregnant.

Over the years both Kaley and Johnny have poked fun at creator Chuck Lorre for increasing the intimate scenes between them after they split.

However, the film director has insisted that wasn’t the case.

In an excerpt of The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story, obtained by Vanity Fair, he said: ‘No. Not at all Making a good show has no room for f***ing with anybody.

‘There’s no, “let’s mess with Kaley and Johnny,” the goal was to make a great show and make every minute of every episode count.’

‘And that was the only goal,’ he added.

‘We don’t have that kind of freedom to risk a TV series that you put your heart and soul into to mess with somebody’s head. No.’

Kaley and Johnny decided that they were better off remaining friends, and co-stars, but refrained from sharing the news with their colleagues until later.

‘We’re from very different worlds, but we also seem to melt into each other’s worlds in certain ways,’ Johnny said.

‘It was a lot of fun to teach one another different things, but then when I came to wanting different things, that made things more complicated.

‘Kaley being very, very open about her life. I was very uncomfortable with being public about it, and I think that hurt Kaley’s feelings a little bit, and I can understand that.’

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix.
