Ella Henderson fans confused as singer performs at Conservative Party conference weeks after Pride-Louise Griffin-Entertainment – Metro

Ella Henderson has left many fans confused as she performed at the Conservative Party conference weeks after performing at Brighton Pride.
The Crazy What Love Can Do hitmaker performed at a fringe event at the Birmingham conference, put on by TikTok and UK Music.
In a video from the event, the musician was seen singing her song Ghost onstage, with attendees dancing.
A TikTok spokesperson told Metro.co.uk: ‘Ella Henderson performed as guest of UK Music and TikTok at the Conservative Party Conference, following a similar event at the Labour Party Conference the week before.
‘Ella was due to perform at the Labour Party Conference as well but had to pull out due to illness. These events do not indicate political affiliation and are held to highlight the importance of the UK’s music sector and the success of our talent on a global stage.
‘It’s vital that those in government and opposition appreciate the importance of the UK music industry both economically and culturally and that’s why UK Music – which is the representative body for the sector – exists and works on the industry’s behalf.’
However, many fans were left disappointed at her appearance, especially weeks after she performed Pride events.
‘Ella Henderson really sat there & thought what do I have to do to stop being booked at all these Pride events in future,’ one said, responding to a video of her performing.
‘Don’t book @EllaHenderson for any pride event in the future,’ another added, with one more saying: ‘You’ve literally just played a string of gay pride events? Are you aware of the tories political history with LGBTQ+ rights. This is so embarrassing @EllaHenderson.’
Others have come to the singer’s defence, with one writing: ‘Some of you need to cut Ella Henderson some slack for performing at the Tory conference. You don’t know what her management are like, what her finances are like. She might need this (probably well paying gig) to pay her bills in this cost of living crisis.’

One more said: ‘I’m confused, why can’t Ella Henderson perform wherever she wants and support a pride event? Just because she done one doesn’t mean she hates the other?’
On August 7, Ella shared a photo of herself performing at Brighton Pride, writing: ‘BRIGHTON PRIDE 🌈💖 Words don’t & won’t ever describe the love I have for the LGBTQ+ community!!!
‘You are all forever a part of me & in my heart!! I promise to do everything I can with my platform & voice to create awareness, cultivate change & mostly spread love, light & equality in honour of each & every one of you!’
Elsewhere at the conference, Liz Truss had people baffled when she walked out to the sound of M People’s Moving On Up.
