Sharon Osbourne has opened up about her heartache following her husband Ozzy Osbourne’s Parkinson’s diagnosis, admitting that she cries a lot.
The Black Sabbath frontman, 73, has been living with the disease for almost two decades, despite only going public with the news in 2019.
Sharon revealed how his illness has impacted her during a frank conversation with Jeremy Paxman, who has also been living with Parkinson’s for the last 18 months.
Speaking about Ozzy in the ITV documentary Paxman: Putting Up With Parkinson’s on Tuesday night, she admitted: ‘I just think of my husband, and like you, who was very energetic, loved to go out for walks, did a two-hour show on stage every night, running around like a crazy man.
‘Suddenly, your life just stops – life as you knew it.’

Parkinson’s disease is a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years, according to the NHS website.
Sharon continued: ‘When I look at my husband, my heart breaks for him. I’m sad for myself to see him that way, but what he goes through is worse. When I look at him and he doesn’t know, I’m like crying.’
Jeremy asked whether there were any positives that have come from Ozzy’s Parkinson’s battle.
‘The positive thing is we spend much more time together as a family and I love my husband more than I do three years ago,’ she replied.

Sharon and Ozzy, who share three children together, recently marked their 40th wedding anniversary.
The Hollywood power couple first met when the X-Factor judge was 18 and were married on July 4, 1982 in Hawaii.
Meanwhile, Jeremy learned his diagnosis when he was in hospital after collapsing while walking his dog.
‘Well, it was completely out of the blue,’ he said of his illness. ‘I was having a walk in the square across the way. There was ice around and I had the dog with me – the dog was on a lead.
‘The first thing I knew was when somebody was sitting me on a bench. I’d fallen over and I made a terrible mess of my face.

‘I’d gone straight down on my hooter, which, as you can see, is not small. Cuts all over the place. I was a real mess. And when I was in A&E, a doctor walked in and said, “I think you’ve got Parkinson’s’”.
‘And it turned out that he had been watching University Challenge and had noticed that my face had acquired what’s known as the Parkinson Mask. I wasn’t as effusive and exuberant as normal. I had no idea.’
Paxman: Putting Up With Parkinson’s is available to stream on the ITV Hub.
