Joe Lycett has unveiled a very, erm, unique portrait of Prime Minister Liz Truss amid her speech at the Conservative Party conference.

The comedian has become well known for his satirical takes on the Tory government, jokingly declaring himself ‘incredibly right wing’ during a chaotic appearance on Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg, and ‘supporting’ Ms Truss on Twitter.

Of course, he couldn’t resist speaking out amid the conference in Birmingham, tweeting a portrait of Ms Truss with the words: ‘F**king hell’ emblazoned on the picture.

‘In Liz We Truss,’ he captioned it.

He went on to reference the Greenpeace activists, who protested during Ms Truss’ speech with a banner asking: ‘Who voted for this?’

‘Disgusting that those dirty little wokey anti-growth activists could interrupt the PM,’ he tweeted. ‘I hope they were taken out and jailed and then deported. #ConservativePartyconference.’

Joe has joined many others watching the events at the Conservative Party Conference, which have also included Ms Truss walking out to the sound of M People’s Moving On Up.

Some were also surprised to see Ella Henderson performing, with TikTok telling Metro.co.uk that she was also due to perform at the Labour Party conference but pulled out due to illness.

‘These events do not indicate political affiliation and are held to highlight the importance of the UK’s music sector and the success of our talent on a global stage,’ they added.

Joe previously had fans in stitches during his widely-shared appearance on Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg.

Asked by Laura about the strength of Ms Truss’ position before she was made leader of the Conservative Party, Joe reflected: ‘I think the haters will say that we’ve had 12 years of the Tories and that we’re sort of at the dregs of what they’ve got available and that Liz Truss is the backwash of the available MPs.

‘I wouldn’t say that because I’m incredibly right wing, but some people might say that.’

When Laura suggested that the ‘consensus’ in politics is often wrong, and we don’t know what’s going to pan out, Joe spoke about ‘predicting the future’.

‘As Liz said there, it would be wrong to predict the future – even though loads of people have predicted that we’re going to have real issues with paying our energy bills. But I think she’s right to say, “Let’s not predict and see what happens next week.” I think she did the right thing there!’

As Laura attempted to get him to drop his persona, she pointed out: ‘There’s a serious point, Joe. She suggested there’s a big package of help coming this week to hep people pay their bills’.

‘She was very clear what she said!’ Joe joked. ‘I think we know exactly what’s going to happen. You’re reassured, I’m reassured, are you reassured?!’

One other memorable moment saw Joe criticising the BBC’s interview with Rishi Sunak, as ‘he’s not going to be Prime Minister, so you may as well have interviewed Peter Andre.’

Following his appearance on Kuenssberg’s show, he appeared on Matt Chorley’s Times Radio show to continue his support for Truss, and then tweeted his delight when the announcement came through.

Birmingham-born Joe has become known for performing a number of public stunts, including changing his name to Hugo Boss.

The comedian also fronts Channel 4’s consumer rights show, Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, where he takes on large corporations on behalf of the consumer.
