Piers Morgan reveals still no charges from police investigation into death threat: ‘They knew who this person was’-Alicia Adejobi-Entertainment – Metro

Piers Morgan has shared an update into the police investigation regarding a death threat he received on social media.
The Uncensored host reported a concerning comment left on an Instagram post of a picture of Piers and his son Spencer in February 2021.
According to screenshots Piers shared at the time, one social media user labelled him a ‘marked man’, and ‘promised’ that he was ‘getting killed’.
The broadcaster reported the threats to the Metropolitan Police and Greater Manchester Police who confirmed an investigation had been launched.
In January, it was then revealed that a male suspect had been arrested in August 2021, and that his phone and tablets had been removed for forensic analysis.
However, the suspect was released pending the investigation and it seems there has been little progress with the case.

Sharing an update with his Uncensored viewers, Piers said on Wednesday night: ‘I had a death threat made against me and my eldest son on his Instagram in public, not on private message, public comment to a picture of me and my son.
‘This was back 18 months ago, maybe longer, and I was so incensed by the nature of it and the specifics of it and how grotesque it was doing it on my son’s Instagram. He’s in his late 20s but he was a bit freaked out by it too. I reported it to the police.’
Piers then disclosed: ‘I got an update today from them, it still hasn’t reached a charging decision. They knew who this person was months and months and months ago, they had the phone months ago and there’s still no charging decision.

‘Now I’m a high profile person who has talked about this in public and there’s still no resolution of this 18 months into this very specific death threat, which if they made on the street, would be a criminal offence.
‘So my point is not just about the complexity of doing all this, but also the accountability that has to come from the full force of the law when people act with impunity on social media.’
Metropolitan Police confirmed they had made an arrest in a statement to Metro.co.uk, which said: ‘The Metropolitan Police told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘On Wednesday, 17 February 2021, police received a report of malicious communications relating to messages sent on social media.
‘Officers have spoken with the complainant in person.
‘On 3 August a 43-year-old man was arrested in Manchester on suspicion of making threats to kill. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue. The investigation remains ongoing.’
