Coronation Street star Mollie Gallagher has become the fifth celebrity confirmed for Dancing On Ice 2023.

The actress, who stars as Nina Lucas in the soap, revealed the exciting news on Lorraine as she joins the line-up.

She told the host: ‘I’m really excited. I’ve not really felt nervous yet, strangely. But being here today, I am now feeling it a little bit!’

She revealed she’ll be getting all the advice she can from former Corrie stars who have smashed it on the show.

‘I’ll be getting all the tips I can because I’m going to need it!’ she admitted.

‘I think I’ve not got the best coordination and everyone that knows me well knows that so when they find out I’m doing this, they’re gonna laugh!’ the star went on to say.

Mollie added that she’s excited for the acting side of the skating, and creating a character.

The actress joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2019 as the niece of Roy Cropper (David Neilson).

Her character Nina was at the centre of a powerful storyline in which she and Seb Franklin (played by Harry Visinoni) were brutally attacked.

Mollie won the best serial drama award at the National Television Awards last year following her performance.

In Dancing On Ice, the star joins already announced celebrities including footballing legend John Fashanu and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer.

Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu will also appear (despite her boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti turning down an offer from the show), alongside Olympian Nile Wilson.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be back to present the ice skating competition when it returns early next year.

Jane Torvill, Christopher Dean, Oti Mabuse and Ashley Banjo will also return to the judging panel.

Last year saw Regan Gascoigne and partner Karina Marta beat the likes of former Strictly pro Brendan Cole and singer Kimberly Wyatt to lift the coveted trophy.

Struggling to hold back his tears after landing a perfect score, Paul Gascoigne’s dancer son said: ‘I am so overwhelmed, I never thought it was possible.’

Dancing On Ice will return to ITV in January 2023.
