The latest episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK saw Pixie Polite tearfully open up about her former relationship with fellow queen Tia Kofi, sharing that she’s been through ‘some really dark times’ in the past year.

In January last year, the second series of Drag Race UK aired on BBC Three, with Tia Kofi finishing in seventh place, before Lawrence Chaney was eventually crowned the winner of the competition.

On the third episode of season four, which aired tonight, Pixie revealed that she and Tia used to be together, but they’ve since split up.

While speaking with Danny Beard in the Werk Room, Pixie explained that she’s found it difficult being apart from Tia, ‘because we broke up about a year ago’.

In a VT, the 29-year-old from Brighton shared that she and Tia dates for several years, but she still hasn’t ‘processed’ their break-up.

‘Me and Tia Kofi from season two, we used to be in a relationship, we were together for about five years. And because of mistakes that I made, we are no longer together, and there’s a lot I’ve still not processed from it,’ she said.

Opening up more to Danny, Pixie continued: ‘It went from living together, working together, having the same friends… to go from that to being apart was really, really difficult. I’ve had some really dark times this year.’

Pixie started becoming choked up while applying her make-up, while in the midst of preparing for the runway that she and Danny were going to compete on together in the paired-up fashion challenge.

Danny consoled Pixie, having also opened up about their partner and become emotional over how supportive they are.

Continuing in the VT, Pixie disclosed that she and Tia still have a close bond, despite the breakdown of their relationship.

‘Me and Tia are still very close, and it’s hard being here, knowing after all that we’ve been through, that she is at home really being my biggest cheerleader,’ she said tearfully.

‘I feel a lot of pressure on myself to make her proud.’

Danny bolstered Pixie by telling her that ‘this is your moment to shine’, before saying in their own VT that they believe their fellow competitor ‘needs to let go’.

‘I know that she’s a gorgeous drag queen inside and out. She needs to know that she’s worth it,’ Danny added.

RuPaul’s Drag Race returns next Thursday at 9pm on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
