Warning: spoilers ahead for RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season 4 episode 3.
This week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK had it all, from tears to laughter, sartorial spectacles to fashion faux pas.
After a tough battle among the queens in the cast to escape the bottom two, in the end Black Peppa and Copper Topp wound up having to do the lip sync for their lives, in a bid to impress head judge RuPaul alongside fellow judges Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and extra guest star, model Leomie Anderson.
The decision was made after Black Peppa and Copper poured their souls out performing to This Is Real by Jax Jones featuring Ella Henderson – but in the end, Copper was the one who was told to sashay away.
Before the elimination, the queens had been tasked in the maxi challenge with creating dazzling runway looks in pairs, with each duo being given a box containing materials of a particular colour.
Sminty Drop and Le Fil wowed in their blue creations, while Dakota Schiffer and Baby also proved a hit in their bold black ensembles.

While Cheddar Gorgeous looked ethereal in her golden gown, her partner Copper didn’t fare so well with the judges, with her draped gold cloak over her black bodysuit sparking criticism from the panel.
Danny Beard and Pixie Polite were named safe by Ru after taking to the stage in their purple outfits, while Black Peppa and Jonbers Blonde didn’t have enough time to realise the visions they had for their clothing.
Whereas Jonbers’ top and skirt did have a slightly more polished finish, Black Peppa’s skirt was literally falling down as they strutted their stuff on the runway, despite all of the hard work they’d put into putting the fabric together in the Werk Room.

Copper thanked Ru profusely for the impact Drag Race has had on her throughout her life, saying on stage: ‘From series one in the US, I have been obsessed with this show and it has saved my life. To be on this series is truly a blessing and I can’t thank you [RuPaul] enough.’
She continued: ‘This has been amazing. It has taken me so long to find myself… This is amazing and beautiful and I am so, so grateful.’
In her message to her fellow queens that she left on the Werk Room mirror, she wrote: ‘Love you all so much. Count your lucky stars you won’t be playing me at Snatch Game. Love, The Old Maiden x.’
Speaking after her departure, Copper said she was ‘thrilled’ by her time in the competition, saying it had taken her a long time to ‘accept myself’.
‘By being myself on the show, I feel like I’ve taken a huge step forward in my life,’ she said.
‘I feel really proud of myself right now, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds, and it’s all thanks to Drag Race UK!’
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK continues next Thursday at 9pm on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
