Love Is Blind season three has thrown down a gauntlet in terms of drama if the new trailer is anything to go by.

The new series is released on Netflix on October 19, introducing us to a new bunch of singletons looking to fall in love walk down the altar.

As in previous years, the premise has remained largely the same – contestants get to know each other in pods but are unable to meet each other face-to-face until they take a huge leap and decide to get married.

Following the engagements, they jet off on fancy honeymoons before moving in together and planning their weddings, only revealing whether they have decided to get married when they make it to the altar..

Nick Lachey and his wife Vanessa have returned to host proceedings and offer their much-needed words of wisdom.

Fans are used to love triangles on the program – who could forget Jessica Batten declaring her feelings for Matthew Barnett before jumping into an engagement with Mark Cuervas in season one?

But the new contestants have gone a step further, introducing partner swapping into the mix.

Yes, seriously.

In the teaser, things appear to be going swimmingly at first, with engagements galore, but things seem to fall apart outside the pods.

‘I haven’t connected the person in the pod with the person I’m looking at,’ one woman admits.

‘The person that I love doesn’t love me,’ another sobs as a man confesses: ‘I’m having feelings for multiple women right now.’

Things then take a turn when one contestant suggests: ‘We should just swap fiancées.’

However, it remains to be seen whether anyone takes him up on that offer…

Thankfully, we don’t have to wait long to find out as the first batch of new episodes will land on Netflix in the next few weeks, with subsequent weekly drops.

Love Is Blind returns on October 19 on Netflix.
