WWE is getting all new commentary teams for Raw, SmackDown and NXT with Wade Barrett and Booker T coming into new roles while Jimmy Smith leaves.
The wrestling giant’s announce desks will look very different starting with Friday’s episode of SmackDown with a major shakeup to go with the show’s ‘season premieres’ over the coming weeks.
On the blue brand, Michael Cole will now joined by British wrestling legend Wade Barrett, who was previously on NXT, as reported by Variety and confirmed by WWE.
For Raw, Kevin Patrick replaces JImmy Smith as the lead announcer alongside Corey Graves, while Byron Saxton will instead be an on screen interviewer.
As for NXT, Vic Joseph remains on the desk with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T serving as Barrett’s replacement.
When it comes to premium live events – such as this weekend’s Extreme Rules show – Cole and Graves will take charge.
