WWE fans still love Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and the Black Adam premiere proved his enduring popularity once again.

The People’s Champ was out at Mexico City’s Museo Anahuacalli on Thursday evening for a fan event celebrating his upcoming DC superhero blockbuster, and he took some time on the ‘black carpet’ to meet some of his adoring fans.

One of them was clearly someone who has admired The Rock for his wrestling exploits as well as his Hollywood career, as they looked overwhelmed to be so close to their hero.

The fan was holding a custom WWE Championship title belt, which Dwayne – who captured the title eight times in his illustrious in-ring career – took from him and signed.

It was an incredibly sweet moment as the fan couldn’t believe his eyes, visibly fighting back tears during the interaction.

The Rock himself shared a clip of the heartwarming exchange on Instagram, and fans online were similarly moved by what went down.

Responding to WWE on BT Sport’s post with the clip, a fan tweeted: ‘That man looks on his 30’s. He was a little boy when the Rock was champion. If for a moment, he let his little child come out when he met his childhood hero. Let that man enjoy that moment! (sic)’

Another person wrote: ‘I would have done the exact same thing. The Rock is one of my heroes and I would’ve been so happy to see that man and get him to sign something of mine.’

Meanwhile, others pointed to the rumours Dwayne could be lacing up his wrestling boots one more time to face his cousin Roman Reigns – the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion – at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023 as the showcase event returns to Hollywood.

‘If he wants to hold WWE gold again, he knows where to go,’ said one fan alongside a gif of Roman carrying both titles.

Asked about the speculation and the chances of another title run, Dwayne told ComicBook.com last year: ‘I don’t know if I have another title run, considering I’m the People’s Champion, but I don’t know if it’s another title run.

‘I think possibly, you know, there might be another match down the road. It would have to make sense.’
