WWE fans and wrestlers have raised over £51,000 for the family of Sara Lee following her death aged 30.

The star, who won the company’s Tough Enough reality competition in 2015 to earn herself a one year contract, died this week with the wrestling world paying tribute to the mum-of-two.

Bull Dempsey worked with Sara at WWE’s Performance Center, and he set up the Sara Lee Memorial Fund following the tragic news to help support her husband, wrestler Wesley Blake (real name Weston) and their two children Piper, five, and Brady, three.

Writing on the GoFundMe page, he said: ‘We’re all shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Tough Enough winner Sara Lee.

‘As her loving husband, Cory, picks up the pieces and continues to raise their 3 children, the last thing anyone in that position wants to be worried about is money and paying for a funeral and everything else that comes along with it.

‘The wrestling community has always been one to come together in the wake of tragedy and this is no different. Every penny raised from this will go directly to Cory and the kids. Thank you all in advance. RIP Sara, you were one of the good ones.’

Since being set up around seven hours ago as this story goes live, fans and wresting stars have raised over $57,700.

Big names like WWE’s Elias, Braun Strowman, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Cody Rhodes and Nikki A.S.H. and many more have donated large sums, as has AEW’s Adam Cole, while there are plenty of anonymous donors too.

Lee’s death was announced on Thursday by her mother, who paid tribute to her late daughter in an emotional Facebook post.

She wrote: ‘It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus. We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory and her children.’

A cause of death has not been revealed.
