We are just hours away from finding out which UK city will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.
Despite Ukraine winning this year’s singing competition with their act Kalush Orchestra, it was announced that the country wouldn’t be able to host the following year due to the ongoing war with Russia.
With the UK coming in second place with Sam Ryder’s electric performance of Space Man, it was decided the competition would be hosted here instead – for the first time since 1998.
Last month, it was confirmed that the shortlist of UK cities being considered by the BBC to host the annual event had been whittled down to two – Glasgow and Liverpool.
So which one will it be? Tonight we will find out where the singing contest will take place and we simply can’t wait.
Here’s what you need to know.
What time is the Eurovision 2023 host city announcement?

Eurovision commentator Graham Norton will be the man to announce the news as Glasgow and Liverpool are in the hot seat to be named host city.
While speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Thursday morning, Graham explained he’d be discussing next year’s Eurovision with the UK’s 2021 Eurovision entrant Sam Ryder.
‘Myself and Sam on Friday night, we will be discussing where Eurovision is going to be, on the telly. Because we’ll know by then,’ he said.
Clarifying what Graham meant, Chris responded: ‘So you’re on The One Show tomorrow night, 7 o’clock, and you’re going to be revealing…’

However, Graham then interjected, questioning if he was allowed to divulge this information.
‘I hope this is ok to say. But yes I am. Unless I’m not supposed to say this, and in which case someone else – Sam Ryder will be there opening an envelope,’ he joked.
What are the latest odds?
Grahan may not yet have given the announcement, though he has thrown his weight behind his favourite pick.
The TV presenter recently admitted that he thought the Scottish city of Glasgow would ‘be a great place to have it’.

According to Online Betting Guide, Glasgow has been given odds of 1/2, making it the favourite to gain hosting rights.
Liverpool, on the other hand, has odds of 13/8.
They also revealed Ukraine is the 2/1 favourite to win Eurovision next year for the second consecutive year, with the UK coming in as the second favourites with 6/1 odds.
The Eurovision 2023 host city will be announced during the BBC One Show from 7pm to 7.30pm.
