America’s Got Talent is bringing an All Stars special with past winners and favourite acts returning to the stage.
The spin-off series created by Simon Cowell was confirmed to be in the early stages of production by NBC.
The original America’s Got Talent series, which first premiered in 2006 – the success of which launched the British version a year later -, recently crowned its series 17 winners.
Judges Simon, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara crowned all-female dance troupe The Mayyas the winners in the grand finale last month.
The Lebanese group, who secured judge Sofia’s Golden Buzzer, scooped the $1million (£866,765) prize and are set to perform at the programme’s live Las Vegas show.
Now, previous winners including the likes of The Mayyas and season 16 winner, magician Dustin Tavella, could be returning to the stage for the all-stars spin-off.
‘America’s Got Talent: All-Stars” will feature winners, finalists, fan favorites and viral sensations,’ NBC said, according to Deadline.
Announcing the news on social media, Howie and Terry confirmed the All-Stars special would be hitting screens in 2023, while Heidi wrote: ‘HOW FUN IS THIS !!!!!!!!! The best of the best and our favourites coming back for #AGTALLSTARS.’
It has not yet been confirmed whether Sofia will be joining Simon, Howie and Heidi on the All-Stars judging panel, while Terry Crews, the current host of AGT, is said to be hosting.
Production is set to begin later this month, with special auditions reportedly taking place now.
