Ulrika Jonsson has slammed Molly-Mae Hague for being ‘melodramatic’ after the Love Island star admitted crying ‘five times a day’ during her pregnancy.

Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury, both 23, broke the internet last week when they announced that they were expecting their first child together in an emotional video showing off the PrettyLittleThing creative director’s blossoming bump.

Since then, the influencer has been keeping followers updated with her pregnancy journey, sharing sweet snippets to social media, most recently an adorable clip announcing the baby’s gender.

However, mum-of-four Ulrika isn’t having any of it.

The 55-year-old wrote a scathing attack in which she criticised the gender reveal as ‘ghastly’ and ‘tacky’, and labelled Molly-Mae ‘melodramatic’.

‘A 23-year-old unskilled and naïve influencer has got a bun in the oven,’ Ulrika wrote in The Sun.

‘And she’s having a girl, we now know, because she posted one of those ghastly, tacky, “gender reveal” videos.

‘Not only has this been the “emotionally hardest” period of her life, poor lamb, but hapless Molly-Mae has cried FIVE times a day and her whole body has been consumed by the shock of it all.’

Despite admitting pregnancy comes with a ‘ballache of emotions – it’s a rollercoaster’, Ulrika continued: ‘It could be my age, but I’m at the end of my tether with these modern-day, lightweight slebs and influencers making melodramas from anything from a trip to the shops to their latest haircuts.

‘Becoming pregnant is, after all, one of the most natural things to happen to a woman.

‘But, then, I guess if you’re 23, largely inexperienced and an unqualified “content creator” who is also a creative director of a huge fashion firm which, incidentally, amounts to organising canapes for launch parties, becoming pregnant with your long-term boyfriend and having a £6million net worth might just send you over the edge.’

Ulrika even went so far as to label the baby an ‘excellent money-making opportunity,’ writing: ‘They seem like a nice couple, MM and Tommy Fury. I have no doubt this baby is much wanted, longed for even.

‘But the cynic in me tells me it also represents an excellent money-making  opportunity. How long before the Pretty Little Thing baby range?’

This comes after Molly-Mae’s admission that she faced an emotional toll in the early days of her pregnancy, saying that it wasn’t an entirely ‘magical’ experience.

Opening up about their struggles in a new YouTube video, Molly explained: ‘I literally just can’t explain how the shock literally overtook my body for the first month, 100%. I just felt like every single day I was living an outer body experience, my emotions were something I’d never experienced before.

‘I cried maybe five times a day for no reason. Just in tears over everything.’

The PrettyLittleThing creative director continued: ‘Also just the shock for Tommy and I. It’s honestly taken up until now to sink in.

‘Every time we talk about it, it feels like we’re talking about a situation that’s not our own because it was a complete shock, I can’t lie.

‘To add into the situation we were going through a really tricky time with Tommy and his work and fights happening then not happening and situations being completely out of our control and me trying to emotionally support him while also being in the emotionally hardest period of my entire life.’

Molly insisted that despite the ‘very crazy’ time, she and Tommy were ‘beyond happy’ to be starting a family as it’s ‘all we’ve ever wanted and literally something we’ve spoken about since we first met’.

She continued: ‘Don’t get me wrong, it was a different experience at the start to how I pictured and that’s the honest to God truth, I don’t hear that many people say that, you probably don’t get many girls come online and say yeah, it was different, it wasn’t magical and I didn’t cry when I found out I was that shocked that I physically couldn’t feel emotion.

‘I hope that gives someone comfort because it really comforted me.’
