Dame Olivia Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi, struggled to keep it together as she appeared in her first live TV interview since the Grease actress’ death.

The British-Australian singer died in August at the age of 73, after first being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992.

Dame Olivia became an advocate for cancer research and funding for treatment and used her platform to raise awareness, after she experienced two recurrences of the disease in 2013 and 2017.

The star’s only daughter, Chloe, recently vowed to carry on her mother’s work, declaring that ‘the torch has been passed’ and she wanted to honour her mother’s legacy.

Part of that work included promoting Melbourne’s annual Walk for Wellness cancer fundraising event, with family members travelling Down Under especially for the event.

It was initially reported that Chloe and Dame Olivia’s widower, John Easterling, were too grief-stricken to attend the walk, and while Chloe herself did not walk, she said it was ‘beautiful’ to see so many people come out in support of the late film star.

Speaking with Richard Wilkins on Nine via video link from her home in Santa Barbara, the 36-year-old became tearful as she spoke about her relationship with her mother.

‘It’s so beautiful to see how many people have come out in support of my mum,’ an emotional Chloe began.

‘John and I are there in spirit. But we just needed to take some time to grieve,’ she shared.

Chloe added that the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre was her mother’s ‘heart’ and ‘what she lived for,’ after the actress herself ‘saw the benefits’ of the holistic treatments, acupuncture, and music therapy the centre provides.

After apologising for crying on camera, she recalled how her mother only ever ‘wanted to do good in the world.’

‘She is an angel. She was absolutely magical,’ Chloe hailed.
