Deadpool star TJ Miller has said he doesn’t want to work with Ryan Reynolds again after claiming the actor was ‘horrifically mean.’

The comedian starred voiced Weasel in the 2016 film and its 2018 sequel, and has also starred in projects including Big Hero 6, The Emoji Movie, and She’s Out Of My League.

However, he believes lead star Reynolds – who is currently expecting his fourth child with wife Blake Lively – could be ‘insecure,’ hence why he believes there was tension on set.

‘As the character, he was, like, horrifically mean to me. But to me, as if I’m Weasel,’ Miller claimed.

‘He was like, “You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny and then we can leave and get back to the real movie”,’ he added in an interview on The Adam Corolla Show

Miller said he ‘listened’ to what Reynolds supposedly said to him, and ‘thought it was weird’ before walking away from the exchange.

He’s unsure why his co-star might have made such comments, but alluded to Reynolds being insecure, agreeing with the interviewer: ‘That’s exactly why he said that. Because I’m not funnier than he is at all, right? And I haven’t been in more movies than him.’

Despite rumours of an uncomfortable atmosphere during production, Miller clarified that there are no hard feelings and he doesn’t hold anything against Reynolds.

‘Would I work with him again? No. I would not work with him again,’ he said.

‘I sorta wish him well, because he’s so good at Deadpool, and I think it’s weird that he hates me.’

Assuring that he doesn’t want to hold a grudge, Miller added: ‘I don’t wish them any ill will. I think [Reynolds] should make a Deadpool 3 and continue to make movies. I just think he doesn’t like me, and I thought it was weird how he expressed that.’

Well, Deadpool 3 shall make, as it was recently announced that Hugh Jackman will also return as Wolverine for the long-awaited third instalment in the franchise.

The announcement was a long time coming, as the second Deadpool movie was released in 2018.

And while further details are being kept under wraps, Reynolds and Jackman’s excitement to be working together again was clear in their video as they dropped the bombshell.

Social media burst into excitement over the news, after Reynolds confirmed the cast have been ‘working very hard on the next Deadpool film for a while now,’ as it’s expected to land in cinemas in 2024.

Reps for Ryan Reynolds have been contacted for comment.

Deadpool 3 is slated for release on September 6 2024.
