Bayley paid tribute to late WWE wrestler Sara Lee days after her death aged 30.
The Damage CTRL leader, unsuccessfully challenged Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship in a Ladder Match at Extreme Rules on Saturday night, found a simple but poignant way to acknowledge her late friend.
As the match went on, eagle eyed fans noticed Bayley had ‘Sara’ written on her blue wrist tape as she made sure the 2015 Tough Enough winner was kept in the minds of viewers.
The tribute came days after Sara – whose husband is former WWE superstar Wesley Blake, with whom she has two young children – died as tributes poured out from wrestlers, fans and more.
Following the tragic news, Bayley shared her own tribute and sent her thoughts to her family as she tweeted: ‘In wrestling, people that you didn’t know yesterday can become the ones you spend every day with for years.
‘Even if that changes for whatever reason, there’s forever a bond. A family. I’m thinking of EVERYONE during this time. I hope Sara & the Weston family feels our hearts.’

In a post on Facebook on Thursday, Sara’s mother said her daughter had ‘gone to be with Jesus’ while asking for space for the family – including Wesley (real name Cory Weston) and their children Piper, five, and Brady, three – to mourn her death.
She wrote: ‘It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus. We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory and her children.’
By winning WWE’s reality show in 2015, she earned herself a one year contract with the company, making her debut at an untelevised NXT event in January 2016.
During her time in NXT, she worked with the likes of SmackDown star Aliyah, and the show’s current women’s champion Liv Morgan, while she also shared the ring with the IIconics, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.
Her final WWE match before her release she teamed with Liv against Billie and Peyton, while she continued to train in the ring over the past few years, and married Blake in December 2017.
In her final social media post on October 5, she shared a selfie of herself in the gym and wrote: ‘Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym 2 days in a row 👏🥳 first ever sinus infection kicked my butt.’
Hours after her death, a GoFundMe page was set up to support her husband and children, with fans, wrestlers and more raising $100,333 so far.
The wrestling world has started posting tributes and memories of Sara, with WWE paying tribute to the former trainee.
Nikki A.S.H. added: ‘You were so good in so many ways. You loved your family and friends so much. you were so giving, warm and selfless. You made me giggle. No matter how long we went without seeing each other, we would always pick up right where we left. I love you Sara.’
And Alexa Bliss tweeted: ‘We love you Sara. So heartbreaking. Please keep Cory & their family in your thoughts and prayers.’
