Married At First Sight UK’s Kwame Badu has hit back at the show’s edits after explaining why he took his wife Kasia to a park bench instead of his house.
Fans were left pretty confused when Kwame chose to be ‘quite secretive’ about where he lives, and instead of letting her inside his home during homestay week, he brought her to a public park.
Kwame later addressed his decision amid the backlash from viewers, saying that he wanted to shield his children from the cameras.
Now, he’s opened up even more about that scene, and claimed that both producers and Kasia knew he didn’t want to be filming at home, and that the show had been edited to make it look like he was being secretive and hiding something.
He said: ‘So, about the park bench… when the home stays were approaching, I told the producers that I didn’t want to show my home because that’s where my children live.
‘In London, a window, or a specific angle, people are very aware and can identify where you live – it was a safety concern. There’s a life both before and after the show.

‘I made this very clear to Kasia that I didn’t want to show my property and producers said they would find an Airbnb, which she thought was a great idea.
‘But the day before we were due to film, they told me that they couldn’t find me anywhere. Instead, they had gained permission to film at Coronation Gardens.’
He added to MailOnline that he doesn’t live with another woman, after accusations that people thought the reason he didn’t invite Kasia home was because his children’s mother would be there.

‘It’s unfair,’ he labelled the accusations, confirming: ‘I live alone.’
This comes after Kwame addressing the situation on Instagram, writing: ‘Because I wanted to protect the home my kids live in with me. But I made it clear to Kasia numerous times that I am happy to book an Uber while we were jamming and go to my yard privately, as in her and I, but not cameras showing my road, my living room, my bedroom – that’s too much of me.

‘I also kept my kids off the show and all this was fully understood prior to filming by production and K, but that explanation didn’t make the edits.’
He added: ‘Private and secretive was to the world, not my wife – but context is a cold steak with no flavour.’
After homestay, during which Kwame met three of Kasia’s sisters, the couple called things off, but Kwame later admitted he was ‘blindsided’ by Kasia’s decision to quit the show.

As they prepared to reveal whether they wanted to stay or leave, Kasia turned to the other brides and grooms and explained how much she loved them.
‘I love each and everyone one of you for different reasons. My phone and my house is open to you,’ she added.
As they applauded her, she revealed she had opted to leave.

Kwame said he had ‘always got the feedback we were cool’ and said that despite ‘everything that has happened’ his feelings hadn’t changed, adding he wanted to stay.
However, he added: ‘I never want to make her stay if she doesn’t want to, especially when she made it so clear,’ changing his result to leave.
