EA has offered an extended look at Need For Speed Unbound, but most importantly they’ve confirmed you can turn off the cartoon effects.
Considering they only announced its name last week, EA has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to promoting this year’s Need For Speed Unbound.
The reveal trailer already made it clear what the game is all about but the 36 second snippet below answers a major question a lot of fans have already had: can you turn off the anime style cartoon effects? And the answer is yes.
It’s not entirely clear, but it seems the effects are treated as a form of customisation, with the ability to unlock or buy more and then add them to your car, to be triggered at certain moments – such as when making a jump.
While they haven’t explained exactly how they work if you do want them, EA has made it very clear they are entirely optional, saying: ‘Yes, you can turn the effects off. In fact, you can choose to never put them on in the first place. Just like any other part of a car.’
Even so, the whole ‘graffiti comes to life’ angle is a key part of the game’s identity, as already made clear by the reveal trailer.
That only showed a very limited amount of gameplay, with the snippet below arguably having more, but with so little time to go until launch it won’t be long till more is unveiled.
