Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run and Shaun The Sheep to feature on special Aardman Royal Mail stamps-Rob Wilson-Entertainment – Metro

Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and Shaun the Sheep are among the faces set to appear on a special set of stamps released by Royal Mail.
The beloved characters have been given their own dedicated set of stamps in order to celebrate Aardman Animation, who created them for TV.
The animation studio, based in Bristol, was founded in 1972 and is best known for its stop-motion animation style and clay modelling techniques.
The stamp collection, available from October 19, will contain eight new designs that feature Wallace and Gromit, Rocky and Ginger, Morph, Shaun the Sheep, and evil penguin Feathers McGraw.
Speaking about Royal Mail’s collaboration with the animation house, the company’s director of external affairs and policy, David Gold, said he hoped to bring a ‘smile’ to everyone’s faces.
He said: ‘This set of stamps will surely bring a smile to everyone’s face. These instantly recognisable, iconic animated characters have found a place in our hearts.’

Gold, 50, added: ‘We are certain they will add a bit of joy to any envelope.’
Aardman’s managing director Sean Clarke said: ‘We are delighted to partner with Royal Mail to celebrate some of our most iconic characters in this colourful and fun-packed stamps series.’
Clarke is currently in the middle overseeing Wallace & Gromit’s return to our TVs, in an upcoming special that’s set to arrive in our living rooms in the near future.

‘We have had the pleasure of creating these films featuring these much-loved characters over the last 40 years, so it is a real honour for the studio to receive this royal stamp of approval.’
The stamps will feature classic scenes from Wallace & Gromit classics A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave, and A Matter of Loaf and Death.

Shaun the Sheep will be joined by farmyard pals Timmy and Bitzer, while Rocky and Ginger from Chicken Run will feature on a stamp of their own.
In addition to the eight stamps, an exclusive miniature sheet, created specially for Royal Mail by Aardman, will also be available.
On the sheet, Wallace and Gromit are shown celebrating some of their favourite TV moments, displaying them proudly on their wall at home.

Aardman was founded by Peter Lord and David Sproxton. Nick Park, perhaps the most famous member of the company, joined in 1985.
Park, 63, was responsible for the creation of Wallace & Gromit, as well as beloved properties Creature Comforts and Chicken Run.
