WWE Raw results, grades: Brock Lesnar destroys Bobby Lashley as Seth Rollins wins United States Title-Alistair McGeorge-Entertainment – Metro

Brock Lesnar made a shock return on WWE Raw and cost Bobby Lashley his United States Championship.

The Beast Incarnate stunned fans as he came down to confront the All Mighty before the champ’s scheduled US Title defence against Seth Freakin’ Rollins.

Lashley was addressing the fans when he got interrupted by Lesnar, who got in the ring and immediately hit his rival with an F-5.

The champ didn’t stay down though, and so Brock hit him with a German suplex and another huge F-5, following that attack up with the Kimura Lock.

Eventually he let go of the hold, and Rollins made his entrance after an ad break to mock Lashley while officials tried to help him.

The Visionary questioned his scheduled opponents’ guts and said he was a disgrace to the United States, leading to their match going ahead as planned.

Lashley put up a valiant fight, but couldn’t cope after Lesnar’s attack and eventually fell to a Stomp from Rollins, who pinned him and became the new champ.

This was a fantastic way to bring Brock back into the fold, presumably set up a huge feud and match with Bobby for Crown Jewel, and give Seth a fresh direction with gold around his waist.

The Good Brothers return to reunite The OC, Bray Wyatt has a message, D-Generation X celebrate and more

D-Generation X bookended the show, opening things with a fun skit filled with cock (chicken) jokes, and bringing the night to an end with a fun in-ring segment delivering the greatest hits.

In a fantastic moment, they referenced Billy Gunn not being around as Corey Graves joked that he was playing with office equipment somewhere, which was a nod to his scissoring antics with The Acclaimed in AEW.

This was a fine use of DX on their 25th anniversary, even if it would’ve meant more to see them get attacked by a younger act to capitalise on the nostalgia.

Anyway, the show properly got started with The Bloodline in full force, with Roman Reigns starting to target Jey Uso before Sami Zayn interrupted and got involved.

He urged Jey to be more like his brother, which didn’t go down well but Matt Riddle interrupted and ended up setting up a match with Sami (who is ridiculously popular with the fans) later in the night.

The first match of the night saw Johnny Gargano beat his former protege Austin Theory in a fun match, albeit one that sends Mr. Money In The Bank further down the pecking order.

Chad Gable put up a great fight against Rey Mysterio (Picture: WWE)

Rey Mysterio picked up a win over Chad Gable in a fantastic effort between two supremely talented stars, but the real story came after the bell.

Dominik – assisted by Rhea Ripley – beat up his dad, and the Judgment Day cut a promo on Edge before AJ Styles came out to tease joining the group, but it was all a ruse as he was instead joined by a returning Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, sparking a brawl between the OC and Finn Balor’s group.

Candice LeRae picked up a shock win over Bayley in an entertaining bout showing the clear chemistry between the opponents.

Damage CTRL still stood tall over Bianca Belair and Candice LeRae (Picture: WWE)

Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky went on the attack after LeRae’s victory, and while Bianca Belair tried to save her, Damage CTRL still stood tall.

The Miz’s birthday celebration didn’t go to plan as Dexter Lumis popped out of one of the gifts, and the A-Lister escaped with Maryse but will find himself in a match with his stalker on next week’s show.

Omos destroyed two local talents in an impressive but by the numbers squash match, while later in the show we saw a teaser for Elias’ return, and elsewhere Bray Wyatt had a message for fans as he returns to SmackDown on Friday.

In the main event match of the night, Matt Riddle got the win over Sami Zayn with the real story being Jey Uso’s refusal to help the Honorary Uce.

This was a fantastic bout continuing the Bloodline saga, which is the most fascinating story in all of pro wrestling right now.

WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
