Gangs of London is about to come blasting back with season 2 later this month and, yup, it’s going to be a bloodbath.

The first season broke records for having the highest body count for a drama, and was even more wince-inducing than any episode of Game of Thrones, including the Red Wedding.

Well, Michelle Fairley has the strange but pretty admirable honour of starring in both the Red Wedding and Gangs of London and had a pretty stark warning for fans of the gory Sky thriller.

Fairley, who stars as merciless mob wife Marian Wallace, teased to LadBible this time around the violence is on ‘steroids’.

Gangs of London season one followed Sean Wallace taking over his father’s criminal gang, and subsequently trying to keep the Wallace’s hold over the capital’s crime scene.

In the season one finale, however, Sean was shot in the face by Elliot before police confirmed he was dead.

Then we last saw Marian at a graveyard where she was shot by Ed and it looked as though she too would be joining her son and husband at the pearly gates.

However, a mystery woman came to her aide and said: ‘Marian. I’m going to help you.’

In turn, we know Marian is going to be out for revenge with gruesome consequences.

Gangs of London returns to Sky Atlantic and NOW on October 20.
