If you’re ready to make the switch to a next gen console the Xbox Series S is on sale via Amazon Prime, along with some games to get you started.

If you want to experience next gen gaming but don’t want to bankrupt yourself along the way, including in terms of energy usage, the Xbox Series S could be the right console for you.

In most respects the Xbox Series S can do all the same things as its sister console, the Xbox Series X, including running the same games. However, the Xbox Series S doesn’t have a disc drive, so all games must be bought and played digitally. It’s also about 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X, meaning that if you don’t have much space in your room it’s an easy fit.

The Xbox Series S can’t run games at a native 4K but it can upscale to that, so the difference is very minor. Most importantly, it’s also cheaper than any other alternative at £249.99. Or, for this week only, less than £200.

The Amazon Prime Early Access sale kicks off on Tuesday, October 11 and will end on Wednesday, October 12.

Although you should keep in mind that the Xbox Series S deal will only be available until stock lasts, which might not be very long.

As part of the promo, you can now get a certified refurbished version of the Xbox Series S for £189.99, which is £50 less than it should be.

According to Xbox’s official website, consoles under this category have been put through a rigorous certification process, tested to confirm they’re working properly, and inspected for hardware and cosmetic quality.

So, in this case, the Xbox Series S should feel the same as a brand new one, with the added benefit of saving you some money. If anything were to happen to your refurbished Series S console, there’s also a 90-day warranty.
