There’s a rose waiting for Dame Angela Lansbury in space thanks to a touching tribute from Nasa following the iconic actress’ death.

The actress, best known for starring in classic TV series Murder She Wrote, died at her home in Los Angeles on Tuesday aged 96, her family confirmed.

As tributes began pouring in for the much-loved actress, Nasa went the extra mile by having their Spitzer Space Telescope capture the most stunning cosmic shot in memory of the late star.

Referencing lyrics from Disney’s 1991 classic Beauty and the Beast, in which Dame Angela voiced Mrs Potts, a tweet from Nasa read: ‘Tale as old as time. True as it can be

‘In memory of Angela Lansbury, we offer this cosmic rose plucked by our Spitzer Space Telescope.’

Their followers were blown away by the ‘wonderful’ tribute, with one writing: ‘That is so beautiful.’
