Alison Hammond has revealed her determination to win a National Television Award for fans who don’t feel represented on screen.
The This Morning star is nominated in the TV presenter category but faces stiff competition from Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Bradley Walsh, and Graham Norton.
The Geordie duo, who present I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, have won the gong every year for two decades, although tips suggest the 47-year-old could end their reign.
Ahead of the starry event, which is hosted by comedian Joel Dommett, Alison appeared on Thursday’s This Morning where she spoke to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about her chances of winning.
Alison explained that she’s a ‘girl off a council estate and is ‘doing it for the everyday people who didn’t think they were good enough.’
‘If I win, they win,’ the TV presenter added.
However, Alison went on to say that is was an honour to be nominated, revealing she felt ‘like she’d won already.’

She added: ‘It’s a nice feeling to be seen and listened to.’
Alison has previously shared her desire to take home the gong and add to her trophy cabinet.
‘I love the NTAs because it’s the viewers who have voted for you,’ she said.
‘It does mean a lot. I’m not gonna lie. I’d like to win,’ she added to The Mirror.
