Alison Hammond is one of the most popular presenters on ITV’s This Morning, alongside her co-host Dermot O’Leary.

In fact, she is so beloved that she has even been nominated for Best TV Presenter at the National TV Awards – which takes place tonight.

She faces stiff competition with the likes of Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, Bradley Walsh, and Graham Norton among her fellow nominees.

But NTA’s host Joel Dommett has backed Hammond for the win – highlighting her as a highlight of the nominees – which would end an impressive streak for Ant and Dec at the awards show.

Who is Alison Hammond?

Alsion Hammond, 47, is a Bafta-nominated TV presenter, born in Birmingham on February 5, 1975.

While best known for her charismatic personality on This Morning, she first rose to fame after appearing as a contestant on the third series of Big Brother back in 2002 on Channel 4.

From there, she has appeared on a lot of celebrity specials and competitions, from MasterChef, to Coach Trip, Strictly Come Dancing and the 2010 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

She has also guested on shows such as Loose Women, Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway

When did she join This Morning?

She first joined This Morning in 2003, starting out as their showbiz reporter.

She quickly became popular thanks to her infectious laugh and ad-libbed approach. Her interview with Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling for Blade Runner 2049 stands out as one of her best and most hilarious moments.

In 2020 it was announced she would be taking over from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford presenting the Friday morning slot with Dermot O’Leary.

Is Alison Hammond married and does she have any children?

No, Alison is not currently married.

She was married to cab driver Noureddine Boufaied but they got divorced in 2014.

They have a son together, Aiden, aged 17.

While Alison has been private about her love life, her co-host Dermot let slip that she is dating someone on This Morning.

When pressed about the relationship by Lorraine Kelly on her talk show, Alison was light on details but seems to be very happy with her love life.

‘Well all I’m going to say, I’m not going to say we’re in love and everything. All I’m going to say is he makes my heart sing and I feel content,’ she said.

‘He enriches my life in ways I’ve never had before.’
