Warning: spoilers ahead for the finale of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.
The episode 9 finale of She-Hulk was full of surprises, from Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) rewriting her own story from inside Marvel Studios to Daredevil (Charlie Cox) returning at the last moment to join a family cook-out.
However, one of the biggest shocks came when Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) returned from space with a surprise guest: his son, Skaar (Wil Deusner).
Many viewers were not expecting Hulk’s son to be introduced into the MCU at that point, as several welcomed Wil into the fold.
Here’s what you need to know about the actor and the backstory behind Skaar.
Which actor plays Skaar in She-Hulk?
Skaar is portrayed in She-Hulk by MCU newcomer Wil Deusner.
The actor shared his excitement over joining the franchise in an Instagram post, sharing a still of himself in character alongside his on-screen dad, Bruce.
‘Woah… hey guys! this is me as a 7 foot tall green guy :),’ he wrote in the caption.
‘Been sitting on this one for a while now, super excited to have been a part of this super fun show and it was such an honor working with such incredible people! #shehulk #skaar.’
Wil, who’s turning 20 years old this December, has previously starred in productions including Stargirl, Shut Eye and Son of the South.
Who is Skaar in Marvel comics? Hulk’s son explained
In the Marvel comic books, following Hulk’s banishment from Earth by the Illuminati, he becomes romantically involved with Caiera the Oldstrong, who’s from the planet Sakaar and possesses the ability to tap into a source of energy called ‘Old Power’.
The couple share twin sons: Skaar and Hiro-Kala, but only Skaar inherits his father’s Hulk abilities and appearance.
Skaar also inherits his mother’s powers, meaning he’s able to control the earth using Old Power.
The character matured extremely quickly, hence why he looks so grown-up in She-Hulk despite Bruce only having been away on Sakaar for a few years in the MCU timeline.
While Bruce and Skaar appear to be getting on fairly well in She-Hulk, in the comics, their relationship is far from ideal, as Skaar travels to Earth with a quest to destroy the Hulk, who was known as a warrior called Green Scar on Sakaar.
There’s plenty of complicated backstory that the MCU could draw from, from Hulk and Skaar fighting to the pair reconciling, so we’ll just have to see where the story goes.

Could there be a She-Hulk season 2?
There’s been no official confirmation on whether She-Hulk is returning for a second season.
However, many fans feel that there is definitely scope for the series to continue, especially considering its format as a legal show where Jennifer and her colleagues could work on a multitude of superhuman-related cases.
What’s more, the episode nine finale did drop various hints of She-Hulk’s story continuing whether on TV or the big screen.
Our fingers are crossed!
She-Hulk is available to watch on Disney Plus.
