Love Island star Callum Macleod has become engaged to his partner after a romantic sunset proposal.

The aircraft engineer headed out to the villa in 2019 but failed to find love, becoming the first Islander to be sent home after a dramatic recoupling.

He had initially been paired up with then 21-year-old Amber Gill, who said he was ‘too old and nice’ for real romance to blossom.

However, it appears the reality TV star has had much more luck outside of the programme, revealing he was going to marry his partner Jade Olivia.

On Instagram on Saturday, a delighted Callum shared a sweet video of him getting down on one knee.

The 32-year-old decided to pop the question by the sea as Jade burst into tears while saying yes.

The happy couple, clearly over the moon, then embrace after Jade places the ring on her engagement finger.

Love Island stars, including Marvin Brooks, fans and loved ones flocked to Instagram to congratulate Callum and Jade.

Marvin wrote: ‘Ahhh love to see it 😍… love you both.’

Joe Garratt penned: ‘awww congrats!! 🙌.’

Callum previously said he jacked in his high-flying career in order to head to the Mallorcan villa for Love Island.

Speaking to The Sun, Callum said: ‘I had to hand my notice in. I’ve got my trade and my apprenticeship so I would apply elsewhere.

‘It was a really hard decision but you only get one life.’

Love Island is available to stream on ITV Hub.
