The first look at Succession season 4 has confirmed an all-out war will unfold with Brian Cox’s Logan Roy at the forefront.

HBO has shared an explosive nine-second teaser in which the founder and CEO of the media conglomerate Waystar Royco declares he will take down his rivals.

The dramatic scene comes after the brutal season three finale twist, which saw Logan prevent his children, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kiernan Culkin), Conor (Alan Ruck), and Shiv (Sarah Snook), from taking control of the business.

‘This is not the end!’ he roars in true Logan fashion in the middle of a news studio floor. ‘We are killing the opposition! I’m gonna build something better, faster, meaner, wilder. I love it here. I f*cking love it!’

Flashes of the four children seemed to suggest that the Roy family is at breaking point with a stressed Shiv appearing to be at the end of her tether and Kendall looking more deflated than ever.

Fans have been going wild for the teaser, with one noting: ‘I’ve never seen Logan more alive’.

‘That 10 seconds of the Succession season 4 trailer was enough serotonin to get me through till 2023,’ another said.

Production on season four began earlier this summer, with Succession veteran Mark Mylod, who has directed episodes since the first season, returning to helm the first upcoming episode.

In July, Tom Wambsgans star Matthew Macfadyen was photographed shooting in New York. He appeared engaged in conversation on the phone while walking out of a marbled building with a phone glued to his ear.

One month later, Strong was seen in his character Kendall Roy’s signature look of a suit and sunglasses getting out of one of the Roy family’s luxury cars.

Succession’s fourth season will contain 10 episodes, which is an increase of one from the nine-episode third season.

In the description of the season, Alexander Skarsgard will be returning to his role of Lukas Matsson from season three.

‘In the 10-episode season four, the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer,’ a teaser for the series reads.

‘The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is completed.’
