Married At First Sight expert Paul C Brunson has admitted that this season’s matchmaking was a ‘car crash’.
For the uninitiated, the E4 reality dating series sees experts matching up a bunch of singletons who meet (and marry) at the altar.
Weeks down the line, after living together, trying to fit into each other’s lives, and seeing how well they actually are suited, they can choose to stay together or call it quits.
But this year’s season hasn’t been too promising.
Last night’s reunion, with the series coming to an end with a final reunion tonight, showed that most couples had chosen to go their separate ways.
All the participants had returned – with several having dropped out during the experiment – but it seemed that only Jenna and Zoe, and George and April were still together.

The others – including Matt and Whitney who sparked incredible uproar after ditching their respective wife and husband to start an affair – all called it quits.
And Paul has taken on some of that responsibility.
Replying to one viewer’s comment ‘You need to take responsibility for the car crash that is this season’s “matchmaking,”‘ Paul penned: ‘I agree; it sucked.’

This comes after expert Charlene Douglas defended the success rate of this series in an exclusive interview with Metro.co.uk.
While many viewers have been fiercely critical over the success rate, Charlene explained that she values the individuals’ personal growth over being in a committed relationship.

Speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk, she said: ‘For me, success isn’t that they’re together in a relationship.
‘We know that there are people in relationships and although they have the status of being in a relationship, they are not happy and they are not the best versions of themselves.’

She added: ‘For me, success is also that they’ve learned a lot about themselves, for example, Whitney has expressed that she’s a lot more vulnerable and has found her voice.
‘I think the feedback so many of them got they would have never got anywhere else.’
