Noel Gallagher has shared heartbreaking news for fans of Oasis – he doesn’t think there’s any point in the band every getting back together.

Oasis parted ways permanently in 2009 due to a feud between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, but fans have always held out hope that the pair could put their differences aside and reunite the band one day.

However, Noel poured cold water on a reunion being imminent – if ever – by revealing that financially there is ‘no point’ for the band to reform.

He was asked about a potential to get back together on the Pub Talk show, where he quipped: ‘Er, would you go on holiday with your ex-Mrs?!’

Noel explained: ‘As funny as this sounds, Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together.

‘We’re as popular now in the eyes of the people as we ever were. And I’m happy with it.

‘If we got back together there would be a circus – and there’s no point. Just leave it as it is. I’m happy. He’s [Liam Gallagher] doing his thing. He’s still selling out Knebworth. It’s like, mate, good luck to you, do you know what I mean?’

Oasis have sold over 70million albums worldwide with their debut album Definitely Maybe becoming the fastest-selling debut album of all time in the UK when it was released in 1994.

While Noel might be indifferent to an Oasis reunion – and the brothers are still not on speaking terms with one another – Liam told the Times in February that he would ‘love’ to see the band back together.

He explained: ‘If it happens, it happens. But I’m quite happy doing [my solo career]. We should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we’re at.’
