Sydney Sweeney hit the red carpet looking absolutely sensational in an edgy look after being cast as the new Barbarella.

It’s been an exciting few days for the Euphoria actress, after it was announced she would be following in Jane Fonda’s footsteps to take on the character from the French sci-fi comic book.

Sydney, 25, looked stunning as she rocked a leather-look crop top and skirt, with a wet hair look on the red carpet of the 29th annual Elle Awards in Los Angeles on Monday.

She joined celebs including Hailey Bieber, Anne Hathaway, and Kerry Washington for the glitzy bash at the Getty Center

Hailey took to the red carpet days after sending the internet into meltdown by posing for a photo with Selena Gomez, looking effortlessly gorgeous in a brown dress.

Scandal star Kerry rocked a sparkly dress with cut-outs over a white shirt, styling her hair into a bob as she joined stars at the event, while Anne looked as amazing as always in a glitzy black gown.

Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde also graced the event, also rocking a black gown, joining Sigourney Weaver, who sparkled in a silver suit, and Issa Rae, who looked stunning in a floor-length orange gown.

Also attending were stars including Kristen Bell, Finneas O’Connell, Michelle Yeoh, and Ariana DeBose.

It comes after it was announced that Sydney will take on the role of Barbarella 50 years after the character was first brought to life.

She will also executive produce the film.

The 1968 cult classic film, based on the Jean-Claude Forest comic book, was helmed by Roger Vadim, the famous French filmmaker who was Jane’s first husband and who had previously been married to Brigitte Bardot.

Jane had played the sultry space adventurer from the 41st century in the original sci-fi film, which received mixed reviews for its plot and sexual themes.
