Andy Dick has been arrested for allegedly stealing power tools, it has been claimed.

The 56-year-old comedian was reportedly charged with first-degree residential burglary after an incident in Santa Barbara.

According to reports, the Less Than Perfect actor was taken into custody after police responded to an alert that there was a burglary in progress at a home in the area.

Officers found him trying to flee the scene after he allegedly removed several items from a property undergoing construction, on October 13.

TMZ reports that the homeowner confirmed that they did not personally know Dick, and that he had no permission to be in the house.

He is thought to have pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A lawyer for the comic has claimed he has a public defender representing him, and they are ‘confident additional facts will come to light supporting Mr Dick as this case moves forward’.

The publication reports that the actor, who has also appeared in Zoolander, Dude, Where’s My Car and Employee of the Month, has remained in custody at Santa Barbara County Jail, and is waiting for someone to bail him out.

His bond has allegedly been set at $50,000.

The incident comes just months after he was arrested for allegedly hitting his partner with a bottle, last November.
