Jamie Foxx has shared an emotional message on the second anniversary of his sister’s death.
The Day Shift actor announced the sad news in October 2020, confirming that his sibling, DeOndra Dixon, had died at the age of 36.
Taking to Instagram, he marked the poignant day with a string of photos of the pair together, and opened up about his grief.
In a heartfelt caption, the 54-year-old penned: ‘Deondra I know ur in heaven making everyone laugh… and have everyone dancing to your songs.
‘I miss you terribly, but I know that your soul is shining bright.
‘I love u forever [sic].’

Fans and famous friends shared their support for Foxx in the comments below, with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger leading the way.
She simply penned: ‘All the love.’
Loren Ridinger replied: ‘Love you Deondra always. Love you @iamjamiefoxx.’
A follower said: ‘I’m sorry for your loss, I’m sure she is a beautiful angel and watching over her family.’

‘RIP. Celebrate her life…. We all die and will all be together again,’ an Instagram user added.
Foxx confirmed the news of Dixon’s death in a statement shared on social media, describing her as a ‘bright light’.
Following her death, he explained that the loss ‘took the life’ out of him in a candid interview, as he spoke of his grief.
In a chat with Men’s Health UK last year, he said: ‘Listen, the pandemic was terrible for a lot of people – including me – on the home front.

‘I started out a little crazy. Like, “Get away from the windows, Covid is right outside!” I was that.’
‘And then we got hit bad with my sister passing away [last October]. That just took the life out of me. I still can hear my sister’s voice, laugh, and stuff like that.
‘But at the same time, it did allow me to lock down and get things done artistically that I may not have gotten an opportunity to do… Covid gave me a therapeutic opportunity.’
