Julia Fox has revealed one of her Hermes Birkin bags has deep cuts on it, which she claims were from an attack with a machete.

The Uncut Gems star, 32, took to TikTok to share the wild story with her followers, stitching a video to another user who praised the ‘lived-in look’ the bags get over time.

Showing off the deep welts in the grey bag, Julia claimed to her followers: ‘I love her, but she’s been through a lot.

‘That’s a little hard to see there, but she was actually attacked by a machete. I’m not kidding — that actually happened to this bag and me.’

Julia turned the bag to show off a smaller cut on the side, adding: ‘You can see a little bit from where the machete slipped and hit the side of the bag, too. There’s a few more little…’

She then joked: ‘I don’t know, I don’t even know how I f**king managed to like… You know I was holding on to this Birkin for my life!’

The actress did not go into detail on the circumstances of the alleged machete attack or when or where it took place.

Her comments were immediately flooded with fans begging her to share a storytime video explaining the terrifying incident and how she managed to escape with just a few slices cut into her bag.

While her grey Birkin might have been through the wars, Julia was gifted a rare black ostrich version from her then-boyfriend Kanye West for her birthday in February, which is said to be worth around $45,000 (£40,000).

Kanye had gifted five Birkins to Julia and her friends for her birthday, having tasked a personal shopper with sourcing the rare and coveted bags in just a few days, with no upper limit to the budget.

While it’s an undeniably incredible gift, Julia previously admitted that she found it quite stress-inducing owning such a high-value item.

She told the New York Times in March: ‘I don’t know if you know about owning a Birkin when you’re not a rich person, but it’s like the most anxiety-inducing thing ever.

‘You’re checking on the Birkin, making sure it’s still there, that it didn’t magically grow wings. It’s scary to have a Birkin. It’s a lot of pressure.’

Given she has apparently come face-to-face with a machete, we don’t blame her for feeling anxious about carrying a Birkin.
