Lana Del Rey has shared the moment she lost her laptop that contained new music and personal photos.

The Summertime Sadness musician, 37, is also working on a book of poetry, due to be published by Simon & Schuster.

However she did not have her work backed up and lost all 200 pages.

Singer Lana took to Instagram this week where she told her fans on Live what happened, explaining her car was broken into and robbed several months ago.

She said that after parking her car, she ‘stepped away for a minute, and the one time I left my backpack inside my car someone broke all of the windows and took it.

‘And inside of it was my computer and my three camcorders and my hard drive.’

She went on: ‘I had to remotely wipe the computer that had my 200-page book for Simon and Schuster, which I didn’t have backed up on a cloud because we do not have any cloud systems that we access.’

Lana said that despite wiping her computer and being forced to delete months of hard work, whoever took her laptop would still have access to her phone and could potentially ‘leak our songs and personal photos.’

She pleaded with fans not to listen to leaked music should the thieves figure out how to access it, saying: ‘Please don’t listen to the music if you hear it because it’s not coming out yet.

‘And, in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it.’

The musician is remaining positive however, and instead to fans that ‘despite all of this happening I am confident in the record to come.

‘Despite so many safety factors in so many different levels, I really want to persist and make the best art I can.’

Lana has new music coming out very shortly as she collaborates with Taylor Swift on her new album Midnights (Picture: North America)

It appears as though Lana’s new music was backed up, however her manuscript has been lost as she failed to back it up.

The devastating news comes as Lana prepares to release new music in the form of a collaboration with Taylor Swift for her new album Midnights.

Snow On The Beach is the first time the two award-winning artists have worked together, with Taylor recently telling fans in an Instagram Live it is ‘about falling in love with someone at the same time as they’re falling in love with you.’
