King Charles III has shared his enthusiasm for The Repair Shop’s wonderful creations in a trailer for his appearance in a special episode for the BBC Centenary.
The monarch will join Jay Blades and his expert team of craftspeople on the show to mark 100 years of the BBC and he seemed just as excited to be there.
In a short teaser clip from the show King Charles can be heard telling Jay about the work of the Prince’s Trust, explaining: ‘Apprenticeships are vital – I’ve seen the difference we can make.’
He is then seen waiting for a big reveal of something which has had The Repair Shop treatment, telling them: ‘The suspense is killing me!’
The special episode, which was filmed before the death of Queen Elizabeth II and Charles becoming King, is part of BBC 100 to mark the BBC’s Centenary.
The team met with the King to discuss their shared passion for preserving heritage craft skills and to learn about The Prince’s Foundation’s work to train the next generation of craftspeople.

Jay previously said of the special: ‘You’ve got someone from a council estate and someone from a Royal estate that have the same interests about apprenticeships and heritage crafts and it is unbelievable to see that two people from so far apart, from different ends of the spectrum, actually have the same interests.’
BBC Commissioning Editor, Julie Shaw, added: ‘This is an incredibly special programme which has the magic that Repair Shop viewers have come to know and love.
‘People will see The former Prince of Wales as you rarely see him – and he is as captivated by the skills of the team who work on his items as any of our Repair Shop visitors.
