Let’s look at Black Adam’s origins.

Black Adam is the latest release in the DC Comics Universe, with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starring as the titular superhero.
The film is a spin-off from the 2019 DCU movie Shazam!, which starred Zachary Levi as Billy Batson, who can turn into the film’s eponymous superhero at will.
Also starring Pierce Brosnan and Straight Outta Compton’s Aldis Hodge, Black Adam has been eagerly anticipated throughout its long production cycle.
The character was first created back in 1945 and appeared regularly in Shazam! comics and TV shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
Black Adam is said to have been ‘redefined’ in the 21st century by DC Comics, and The Rock admits he’d hoped to play the role for some time.
But who is he?

Black Adam was first introduced as a villain by Otto Binder and CC Beck, when he was first introduced in a 1945 issue of Fawcett Comics’ The Marvel Family.
Later down the line, DC Comics acquired the licensing for Black Adam, which meant he endured as a regular character, starring opposite Shazam!
However, since the advent of the 21st century, Black Adam’s nature has been changed slightly by writers Jerry Ordway and Geoff Johns.
Nowadays, Black Adam is more of an anti-hero who is attempting to clear his name and improve his reputation.
The character first appeared on the big screen earlier in 2022, when he was voiced by The Rock while appearing in the animated film DC League of Superpets.
At the start of the new movie, Adam is over 5,000 years old.
What is the Black Adam release date and is it streaming?

Black Adam is released in cinemas on Friday, October 21. It had a big premiere in Mexico City on October 3, and had screenings in New York, London, and Los Angeles before its worldwide cinema release.
It was originally set for release at Christmas last year but was subsequently delayed due to the ongoing effects of the Covid pandemic. Its new release date of July 2022 was then pushed on, this time because of the after-effects of the pandemic.
As for whether the film is going to be coming to streaming services any time soon, we’ll have to wait and see. There’s no streaming release date yet for Black Adam – it is likely to be early in 2023.
