Former WWE superstar Wesley Blake has paid tribute to his late wife Sara Lee following her death earlier this month.

The 2015 Tough Enough winner – who finished top of the reality challenge show to earn a one-year contract with the company – died aged 30, leaving behind her husband and their children Piper, five, and three-year-old Brady.

Now, her widower – whose real name Cory Weston – has penned a poignant and devastating note, hailing Sara as ‘an angel walking on this earth’.

Alongside a photo of them laughing and hugging each other, he wrote: ‘Dear Sara,

‘I loved you from the first moment I saw you. I would always say that you were an angel walking on this earth. Beautiful, compassionate, strong and so loving. An angel that blessed me with 3 of the most beautiful children I could imagine.

‘But you were soo much more than just mom. You were a motivator, a best friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, the back bone of our family, and (my favorite), my wife.

‘I really don’t know what to say in these uncertain times. I just know that death can’t take away the memories we made.

‘I can’t promise that I will stop grieving but I know now, that you’re free. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the best years of my life so far. I LOVE YOU SARA.’

The heartbreaking news was revealed by Sara’s mother on her own personal Facebook, saying her daughter was ‘gone to be with Jesus’ while asking for space for the family to mourn her death.

She wrote: ‘It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus. We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn. We all need prayers especially Cory and her children.’

A cause of death has not been confirmed, while wrestlers and fans have raised over £93,000 on GoFundMe to help her family.

By winning WWE’s reality show Tough Enough in 2015, Sara earned herself a one year contract with the company, making her debut at an untelevised NXT event in January 2016.

During her time in NXT, she worked with the likes of SmackDown star Aliyah, and the show’s current women’s champion Liv Morgan, while she also shared the ring with the IIconics, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

Her final WWE match before her release she teamed with Liv against Billie and Peyton, while she continued to train in the ring over the past few years, and married Blake in December 2017.

In her final social media post on October 5, she shared a selfie of herself in the gym and wrote: ‘Celebrating finally being healthy enough to go to the gym 2 days in a row 👏🥳 first ever sinus infection kicked my butt.’

The wrestling world has started posting tributes and memories of Sara, with WWE paying tribute to the former trainee.

A post on the company’s official Twitter account read: ‘WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Sara Lee. As a former “Tough Enough” winner, Lee served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and fans.’

Raw star Bayley wore Sara’s name on her gear for Extreme Rules days later, and tweeted: ‘In wrestling, people that you didn’t know yesterday can become the ones you spend every day with for years.

‘Even if that changes for whatever reason, there’s forever a bond. A family. I’m thinking of EVERYONE during this time. I hope Sara & the Weston family feels our hearts.’
