Amanda Kloots has revealed her three-year-old son has started asking after his dad, Nick Cordero, following his death two years ago.

Cordero started receiving treatment for Covid-19 in March 2020 before he died at the age of 41 in July.

The Broadway star, who married Amanda in 2017, had suffered numerous complications from the condition, including having his leg amputated as a result of blood clots.

Amanda, 40, and Cordero share son Elvis, who was just 13-months-old when his dad died.

Now, the American TV personality has shared that Elvis still remembers his dad and she talks about him ‘so much’ at home.

Speaking to iHeartRadio show The Important Things with Bobbi Brown, she said: ‘I don’t know if that’s because we watch so many videos together of Nick or because I talk about Nick so much. But he does, he does say that and I love it. But it makes me wonder.’

She says the conversations about her late husband have led to her toddler asking ‘where his dad is,’ which means she now has a new layer of her own grief to tackle.

‘I feel like that part of grief is going to start happening, where I have to now face his grief after dealing with mine for the last two years,’ she said.

‘Helping Elvis understand at this young age where dad is, why dad doesn’t live with us, what happened to dad, and it’s been really, really, really hard.’

On what she tells her little boy, Amanda revealed she says: ‘Dada lives in heaven with Jesus but he’s all around us all the time,’ as she reminds Elvis that his dad is ‘watching over them.’

Amanda has spoken openly about the loss of her Tony-nominated husband, who was known for his roles in musicals such as Bullets Over Broadway.

Earlier this year, she reflected on two years since he died, recalling the day Cordero was admitted to hospital, which was ‘the last time I would see and talk to him as I knew him.’

‘I remember telling him that I’ll park the car, take Elvis for a walk and pick him up in a couple hours. We both thought he’d be out in a couple hours,’ she told her followers in May.

She continued: ‘I had no idea that would be the last time I would see and talk to him as I knew him. March 30th he was admitted to the hospital and never came home.’

Amanda noted that March 30 will be a day that stays with her ‘forever’ as her grief continues, but said she’s ‘learned a great deal’ from the day.

‘In retrospect, I’ve learned a great deal from this day. You just can’t take for granted time you have with people. You truly don’t know if and when you’ll see them again. We are not invincible,’ she reflected.

‘Give the biggest hug, hold the kiss a little longer, say I love you.’
