Leslie Jordan has died at the age of 67, it has been claimed.

The Hollywood icon, who starred in Call Me Kat, American Horror Story and Will & Grace among many others, reportedly died earlier today.

According to TMZ, he was driving in Hollywood when he is thought to have suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel.

Law enforcement officials reportedly told the publication that he crashed his car into a building.

His cause of death has not been confirmed.

Sean Hayes, who starred beside Jordan on Will & Grace, wrote: ‘My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with.

‘Everyone who ever met him, loved him. There will never be anyone like him. A unique talent with an enormous, caring heart.

‘You will be missed, my dear friend.’

‘I am stunned at the death of Leslie Jordan, who delighted us with his many roles on television and film,’ George Takei tweeted.

‘Leslie, we are heartbroken at your loss and will miss your mirth and your inimitable spirit.’

The official RuPaul’s Drag Race account penned: ‘Rest in peace, Leslie Jordan. Thank you for the countless laughs and for sharing your spirit with us all.’

The Tennessee-born icon commanded a stage and screen career that spanned decades, and first came to fame in the 80s.

Since then, he has become a firm staple of the cinema, appearing in Missing Pieces, Home on the Range, The Help and Madhouse.

One of his latest screen credits is from 2021’s The United States vs Billie Holliday – starring opposite Andra Day.

Jordan also appeared in countless TV programs, including Desperate Housewives, Ally McBeal, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Ugly Betty, and Boston Public.

One of his most famous roles came as Karen’s infamous frenemie, Beverley Leslie, in Will & Grace, beside Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes.

While he became a firm fan favorite with the role – and took home an Emmy award – he previously confessed that the character was initially intended for Joan Collins.

According to PinkNews, he was appearing at the National Book Festival in Washington DC when he told the crowd: ‘I got a call to read for this part for Will & Grace.

‘What I didn’t know was that the character of Beverly Leslie was originally written for Joan Collins.

‘She was going steal Rosario the maid away from Karen Walker and confront each other over a billiard table. They wanted this like Dynasty catfight where they rip each other’s wigs off.

‘And Miss Collins, apparently, did not want her wig jerked off, and so they decided to recast it.’

And Jordan never looked back.

Aside from Will & Grace, he also starred in several seasons of American Horror Story, and was portraying Phil in Call Me Kat at the time of his death.

In 2014, Jordan traveled to the UK and took part in Celebrity Big Brother, and spent time in the infamous house with James Jordan, Claire King, Lauren Goodger and Stephanie Pratt.
