Doctor Who’s Mandip Gill shares adorable behind the scenes photos with Jodie Whittaker as pair bow out in explosive special: ‘Best five years ever!’-Cydney Yeates-Entertainment – Metro

Doctor Who star Mandip Gill has warmed our hearts by sharing a number of cute photos of her and her co-star Jodie Whittaker following their exit, branding her time on the show as the ‘best five years ever’.
The Yaz actress bowed out of the sci-fi drama in the centenary special, The Power Of The Doctor, alongside the 13th Time Lord, who regenerated into David Tennant in the plot twist of all plot twists.
Following the dramatic episode, which aired on Sunday, Mandip took to Instagram to share a number of throwback photos while praising her co-stars, crew members, and fans.
Captioning the post, she wrote: ‘And the best part about it all is “nobody else got to be us” thank you to every single person behind the camera, in front and watching for the best five years ever!
‘I never thought I’d say this, but I hope I’m followed by Doctors and Daleks for the rest of my life. “Let’s not say goodbye” 💙🙏🏾’
She also posted a series of behind the scenes snaps on her Instagram Story.
Fans were quick to shower Mandip with love, including Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies, who will be returning to the BBC show next year.
‘Congratulations and much love ❤️❤️❤️,’ he penned.

Following the 90-minute special, the BBC confirmed David will become the 14th incarnation of the Doctor with Catherine Tate reprising her role as his former companion Donna Noble.
They will helm the show for three special episodes which will air in November 2023.

Ncuti Gatwa will then take control of the Tardis as the 15th Doctor, with his first episode due to air over the festive period in 2023.
Talking about the future, returning showrunner Russell teased: ‘If you thought the appearance of David Tennant was a shock, we’ve got plenty more surprises on the way.
‘The path to Ncuti’s 15th Doctor is laden with mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and fun.
‘And how is it connected to the return of the wonderful Donna Noble? How, what, why? We’re giving you a year to speculate, and then all hell lets loose.’

Jodie’s last venture as the Doctor was loaded with drama as it saw her fight for her existence against some of her deadliest enemies: The Master, the Daleks and the Cybermen.
The episode also saw the surprise return of actors who have played Time Lords from the ages including Colin Baker, Peter Davison, Paul McGann and Sylvester McCoy.
